Economics L. Robbins (Main Characteristics-6)

In this article we will discuss Economics L. Robbins (Main Charactetistics-6)

For this reason, amongst others, Robbins believe that, as economists, we should not go into the question of policy inferences. This task should be left to other disciplines. Economists should only study economics in terms of “what is” and not what “ought to be”. According to Robbins, economists should concentrate upon the study of the manner in which an economy tries to solve its problem of scarcity of means of satisfaction as compared with
its needs. The job of an economist should be restricted to only investigation and reporting the findings. He should not say anything about its welfare aspects.
