According to Robbins, the materialistic definition is classificatory and not analytical. The division of activities into economic and non economic activities is completely unscientific and uneconomic. Robbins also pointed out that welfare definition of economics involve value judgement because it prescribes policies which is likely to use the
concept of welfare. But, he v=considers economics as neutral between ends. Basically, value judgment is with in jurisdiction of philosophy and not economics.
